Lore Disclaimers

  • The Fall of Sanctuary attempts to reflect both real-world past and present elements and mythological elements. Although regions are based upon certain real-world nations, they are not intended to negatively reflect upon the inhabitants of those regions. The usage of common themes like imperialisation, colonisation, tyranny, the mistreatment of the common folk, and the abandonment of the people by those above them are intended to simultaneously reflect exaggerated and real aspects of the worst parts of the real world and also the notable strongest concept of the Fall of Sanctuary: The world has been abandoned by its Gods, ensuing its dark age. Both the negative and positive aspects of the concepts of free will, control, and faith are explored.
  • When we say that a location is inspired by a real world region, that doesn't inherently mean that that region is 'fantasy [insert region].' They're not designed to perfectly reflect or replicate a given location whatsoever, although they do pull from certain elements for sure, namely: Architecture; aesthetic; mythology; biome; ecosystem; naming systems; and sometimes governmental features, such as Vasterioth being a Republic when it has Greco-Roman inspirations. Rarely do these regions base themselves entirely around any given real-world region, nor are their cultures, attitudes, and governments meant to reflect those regions, especially when you consider that imperialisation is a major problem in the Fall of Sanctuary and that a lot of modern day nations are nothing like their historic counterparts as well as the presence of fictional races with their own distinctive ideologies and moral compasses. As such, no region is intended to fully reflect or place any real-world nation in a negative or positive light, nor indicate our ideology surrounding those regions.
  • The Fall of Sanctuary isn't meant to be a critique of any real region, religion, culture, so on and so forth, nor villainize or mock them— it spits upon imperialisation, corruption, and the evil of any individual who would subjugate, harm, or use others— and it attempts to build upon the beautiful thing that is the mythology and vibrant cultures of the real world around us as well as the fantasy genre at large.

Contribution Disclaimers

  • We withhold the right to replace a removed piece of content with something new if it gains notable traction and the writer of that content has decided to leave the server and/or staff team. This may feature some similarities to previous content (such as the type of content it is), however, it is by no means intended to replicate that content or directly mimic it outright (e.g. if you produce a Botanist's Guild, we might make one in turn in order to fill the void.) This is purely so that its niche is not left empty. We will not replicate that content perfectly, nor will we simply take the concept and rewrite it, however, we can make our own spin on a given niche should it be relevant (as in, again, the likes of an organization, a God of a given Divine Title, something significant, but we will insure it to be distinctive and separate in its entirety, with no portion of the text used to produce it taken from your work nor any distinctive, original core/key concepts.)
